Briefs: Mann’s Crigger gets KASA award; Knipper, Foree to state boards; DBL lawyers recognized

Mann Elementary Principal Connie Crigger was selected as Administrator of the Year by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators.  She was presented with an award at KASA’s 50th Annual Leadership Institute this summer.

Connie Crigler

This award represents the highest honor KASA bestows on practicing administrators, recognizing outstanding leadership, significant contributions to the effectiveness of the association, and the honor they bring to themselves, their colleagues, and their profession.

Crigger began her education career as a PTA parent. That experience led her to get an education degree and become a teacher and then principal. She is known for her philosophy of Kids First and not doing what is best for adults, but rather what is best for the student.  She says, “If that makes adults uncomfortable, I’m okay with that.” Under her leadership, her school was named a National Blue Ribbon School.
