Obituary For Barbara A. Hellmann

Barbara A. Hellmann, age 68, of Edgewood, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

A dedicated Registered Nurse, Barbara spent over 32 years serving at Children’s Hospital. Her life’s work was rooted in compassion. She was deeply committed to caring for children and took great pride in helping them heal and thrive. After she retired, she continued to serve others by volunteering at United Christian Ministries and in many roles at St. Henry Church.

She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Ronald and Martha Hellmann; her siblings, James Hellmann (Barbara) and David Hellmann (Kim); and her nieces and nephews: Stephanie Ruehl (Josh), Megan Shipwash (Matthew), Brent Hellmann (Sarah), Emily DeVault (Brian), Christopher Hellmann (Emily), Katrina Ruff (Jacob), Kendall Day (Corey), Hillary Hellmann, Katie Hellmann, and Ellie Hellmann. Barbara was also a cherished great-aunt to 14 great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Aylor, and her sister, Diane Allen.

A visitation will be held at St. Henry Church on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow immediately at Mother of God Cemetery.
