Obituary For Betsy Lee Aikman

Betsy Lee (Johnson) Aikman 84, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 in Ft Wright, KY. She was born April 29, 1941 in Marysville, OH to Ross and Ula Mae Johnson. She is survived by her son, Brian Aikman and his wife Sarah of Independence, KY, her daughter Ruth Gainer of Worthington, OH, and son Ron Dull, Jr. of Tiffin, OH. Other survivors include a brother Thomas (Janice) Johnson of Green Springs, OH. Grandchildren Samantha Mager, Ronald Dull 3rd “JR”, Alexander Aikman, Gage Dull and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Ronald and Glen.

Betsy attended Old Fort High School, and then obtained her Beautician license. She managed and owned salons in Tiffin & Republic, Ohio. Betsy and her husband Ted were the owners of Sycamore Tavern, Sycamore Ohio. At the age of 54 Betsy went back to college at Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, WI where she obtained her (RN) Nursing Degree and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Betsy worked at ThedaCare Regional Hospital as a RN Nurse until she retired. Betsy primary job at ThedaCare was a Recovery Nurse, however; she loved filling in as a nurse on the Life Flight Helicopter.

Betsy enjoyed her family and friends as well as her love of playing music instruments, dancing, traveling, and quilting. Betsy favorite passion was quilting and sewing where she excelled and utilized her talents to teach others. Betsy has been showcased on TV many times for her amazing quilts. In her lifetime, Betsy donated over 500 quilts to people in need. She will be greatly missed.

Per Betsy request, no public service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Betsy has requested that donations be made in her memory to the following charity The National Hospice Foundation, www.nationalhospicefoundation.org.
