Obituary For Ernest Ray Duncan
Ernest Ray Duncan, age 93, of Alexandria, KY, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025.
Born in Whitley County, KY, he was the son of Earl and Minnie (Steely) Duncan. Ernest proudly served in the United States Army and later worked as a laborer at LSI Lighting. He was a devoted member of High Point Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and found joy in watching classic Western films and sharing meals at Cracker Barrel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Anna (Kilburn) Duncan; brothers, Clifford Duncan and Frank Duncan; and sisters, Hazel Turner and Sarah Smith.
Ernest is survived by his sons, Philip (Nora) Cody and William (Debbie) Cody; his sister, Betty Lewis; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a service with Military Honors beginning at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place on Friday at 11:00 AM at Steely Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY.
