Rodney "Rod" Arnold Bolding, 78, loving son, husband, father, brother and uncle; most recently of Florence, KY went home to be with his Lord and savior early Tuesday morning September 23, 2025.

He grew up in Gadsden, Alabama where he attended Emma Sansom High School. One of his first jobs was as a horse jockey which inspired his love of horse racing. Rodney loved fishing with his brother. He collected fishing rods and lures; as his family's business was making fishing lures. He also loved antique cars, this passion earned him the nickname "Hot Rod" Corvettes were his favorite.

Rodney is survived by his son, Russell Bolding (Lorna) and daughter, Rachael Matte; grandchildren Zachary Matte and Nora Matte; brother Kenneth Bolding Jr. (Sandra) and sister Peggy Braswell; and a host of nieces and nephews, including special niece, Charity Bolding Haney.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Bolding; grandparents Albert and Georgia Bailey and Ollie Mae Clark; parents Kenneth Sr. and Marjorie Bolding; sister, Carolyn Minton, brother-in-law, George Braswell Jr; nieces Tammy Braswell, Deandra Bolding and Holly Cox; nephew Brent Braswell; great-nephew Dustin Loyd and best friend, Eugene Bowling.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM until shortly before the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Visitation and funeral service will both take place at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY, 41042. Directly following the funeral service, Rodney will be laid to rest at Richwood Cemetery, Walton, KY.
