Kroger has announced the grand reopening of its Mt. Zion store and the grand opening of its new Fuel Center located at 9950 Berberich Drive in Florence after a $6 million remodel.
On Friday, Jan. 23, the new Mt. Zion Kroger will offer a new look and expansions in several departments including floral, pharmacy, deli, meat and seafood, and frozen foods. The produce department will offer an increased variety or natural and organic products and the bakery will now feature Artisan Breads.
The newly added fuel center will make it more convenient for customers to redeem their fuel points. When you shop at Kroger and use your Plus Card, you can earn 1 fuel point for every $1 you spend in groceries. All through the year, participating gift card purchases, No-Contract Wireless Phones and Airtime Cards earn at least twice the fuel rewards, and several times throughout the year, Kroger extends to a four-times the fuel rewards promotion when participating gift cards are purchased. Savings of up to $1 off per gallon are possible at Kroger Fuel Centers.
Trey Grayson, president of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, will particpate in the ribbon cutting and celebration, which begins at 8 a.m. Friday. At this time, Kroger will make a donation of 565,512 meals to the Freestore Foodbank, a donation of more than $8,000 to the Women’s Crisis Center and a $1,000 donation to Boone County High School.
Prior to the celebration kick-off, the first 300 customers through the door at 7 a.m. will receive a $10 Kroger Gift Card; additional giveaways are planned for Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, a penguin from the Newport Aquarium is scheduled to appear from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday afternoon, WLW’s Jim Scott will make an appearance from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
In addition, throughout the weekend, customers can register to win a one-year membership to the Cincinnati Museum Center or two tickets to the Newport Aquarium Penguin Encounter – a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Bengals mascot, Who-Dey, and Ben Gals cheerleaders will also appear. Community events scheduled are performances by the Boone County High School Band, radio remotes, gift card giveaways, face painting and balloon artists courtesy of Cincinnati Circus Company.
“It’s such a wonderful investment in our community and our associates,” said Glenn Smith, Mt. Zion store manager. “The store improvements and the addition of the fuel center shows our commitment to our loyal customers.”
The Mt. Zion Kroger has been in this location since 2004 and began its renovations in June last year. The Mt. Zion Kroger serves many communities in the surrounding areas including Florence, Independence and Erlanger.
“Being able to add a fuel center to the Mt. Zion location is an enhancement to the community and now customers have the added benefit of redeeming fuel points,” said Sukanya Madlinger, President of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton Division. “In addition, the new look and expanded departments will offer more variety to our customers.”
