Beechwood High School has been chosen to receive the College and Career Transition Award from ACT as the state’s exemplary high school that embodies successful preparation for college and career.
As the state winner in the ACT College and Career Readiness Campaign in the College and Career Transition Award category, the school will now be included in the national pool of high school exemplars that will be considered for moving forward in the competition toward selection of one high school to be chosen to receive the national College and Career Transition Award.
Beechwood High School is being recognized for:
Demonstrated student growth toward meeting ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks between grade 8 and grade 12
Aggregate ACT scores and percentage of students meeting ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks
Demonstrated success in serving students from underrepresented racial/ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
Demonstrated dedication to ensuring that students gain the knowledge and skills needed to prepare them for success after high school
Demonstrated commitment to providing leadership opportunities for students outside the classroom.
Beechwood Independent School District provides a co-educational public education for 1,300 students in grades K through 12. Its elementary and high schools are integrated into a single campus in Ft. Mitchell.
The School District has been recognized for high academic achievement and excellence in extracurricular activities. The high school is nationally ranked among America’s best public high schools by Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report and is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.
