NKU Chase College of Law hosts ‘The New Era in Gaming Law’ symposium March 20


Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law will host “The New Era in Gaming Law” symposium on March 20. The symposium, sponsored by Northern Kentucky Law Review and W. Bruce Lunsford Academy for Law, Business + Technology, will explore emerging regulatory and legalization issues regarding sports betting, fantasy sports, and online gaming.

“The New Era in Gaming Law” symposium will present nationally recognized experts in the field of gaming law. Topics will include casino employment issues, internet and interactive gaming, sports betting in the aftermath of NCAA v. Christie, and other sports wagering issues, including the federal PASPA and UIGEA statutes.

Speakers are:

· Professor Walter T. Champion, George Foreman Professor of Law, Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Houston;
· Professor Marc Edelman, associate professor of law, Baruch College, Zicklin School of Business, City University of New York, New York City;
· Attorney Kate Lowenhar-Fisher, member, Dickinson Wright PLLC, Las Vegas;
· Ryan Rodenberg, assistant professor, Florida State University, Tallahassee;
· Professor I. Nelson Rose, professor of law, Whittier Law School and Editor-in-Chief, Gaming Law Review and Economics, Costa Mesa, California;
· Dean Jeffrey A. Standen, dean and professor of law, NKU Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Highland Heights, Kentucky; and
· Attorney Daniel L. Wallach, shareholder, Becker & Poliakoff, Fort Lauderdale.

Additionally, three Northern Kentucky Law Review associate editors will present their student notes on gaming law at a Student Scholarship Showcase Luncheon.
