St. Elizabeth’s Bast named to American Medical Group’s Political Action Committee board

Jacob Bast, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of St. Elizabeth Physicians has been appointed to the national American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Political Action Committee Board of Directors.

The AMGA Political Action Committee is the only political action committee dedicated to representing the views of multi-specialty medical groups and integrated delivery systems. AMGA-PAC gives voice to medical groups as Congress and the Administration decide upon key healthcare legislation.

“We are very pleased that Jake will be joining the AMGA-PAC Board,” said Chet Speed, President of AMGA-PAC. “Jake is an experienced medical group leader who will provide energy and vision in helping medical groups have a strong voice in Washington, D.C.”

The AMGA is one of America’s largest national trade associations, representing a number of prominent medical groups and integrated healthcare systems, including St. Elizabeth Physicians. More than 130,000 physicians practice medicine in AMGA member organizations, providing care to more than 120 million patients nationwide (approximately one in three Americans).

Jacob Bast joins St. Elizabeth Physicians President and Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Loomis, MD who currently serves as chair of the CEO Council of AMGA. Both positions are avenues to eventual full AMGA board members.

“This appointment allows St. Elizabeth Healthcare, St. Elizabeth Physicians and the Northern Kentucky community to be at the forefront of medicine and provide input before issues become common knowledge,” says Bast. “Dr. Loomis and I will also have an opportunity to help shape the way physicians deliver patient care in the next three to five years and beyond.”
