No. 1-ranked Thomas More College will host an NCAA Division III women’s sectional tournament at the Connor Convocation Center this weekend.
The National College Athletic Association’s Division III women’s basketball committee announced all four host sites for next weekend’s sectional round of the Division III Championship tournament.
No. 2-ranked University of St. Thomas (29-0) will play No. 14-ranked Hope College (25-4) in the first sectional semifinal and Thomas More (29-0) will play No. 8-ranked Washington University in St. Louis in the second sectional semifinal on Friday.
The two winners will play on Saturday in the sectional finals for the right to advance to the national semifinals.
The Saints defeated Eastern Mennonite University, 85-65, Saturday to advance to the Sweet 16.
St. Thomas More will play Hope College at 5 p.m., followed by Thomas More and No. 8-ranked Washington University in St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. The two winners from Friday will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday for the right to advance to the “Final Four.”
Ticket prices will be $6 for adults and $4 for senior citizens, students and children. Thomas More will have pre-sale of its allotment on Thursday (March 12) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Connor Convocation Center.
Hope will pre-sale its allotment on their campus and Fly Dutch fans are encourage to check the school’s website for pre-sale information. Washington University and St. Thomas’ allotments will be held at the gate until tip-off of their respective games. Gates will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off of the first game each day.
There will be no re-entry to the Connor Convocation Center on both days of the sectional.
