Jewelry trunk show to benefit Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky May 4

Herzog Jewelers, in partnership with Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky, invites the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community to shop for a cause on Monday, May 4. The Fort Mitchell-based jewelry store is holding a trunk show of pieces from The Henderson Collection by Lecil, with ten percent of sales benefiting CHNK.

While doors open at 10 a.m. and sales throughout the day will count towards the donation to CHNK, event coordinators plan to offer extended hours to accommodate a special cocktail event that will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Guests attending the event will have the opportunity to not just browse the jewelry line, but to also enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while mingling with the designer, Lecil Henderson, and representatives from CHNK.

When initial plans for the trunk show began coming together in March, the Herzog team knew they wanted it to benefit a nonprofit in the Northern Kentucky area. That’s when Stephanie Renaker-Jansen, owner of Reminiscent Herb Farm and a long-time customer of Herzog Jewelers, suggested that the team select CHNK as the event beneficiary.

“Stephanie sits on the Board of Trustees at CHNK,” explains Ted Koester, owner of Herzog Jewelers. “She’s extremely passionate about the work they do to address the behavioral health needs of kids and families in crisis in the community. Given that we too value family above all else, it made perfect sense to partner with the home.”

Strategically scheduled for the week prior to Mother’s Day, the trunk show provides a perfect opportunity for tri-state shoppers to find a gift for mom. The Henderson Collection includes pieces crafted with diamonds and fine gold; the fashionable designs merge old-world craftsmanship with new-world technology to offer impeccably constructed necklaces, bracelets, and rings as well as hand-wrought and electro-form earrings.

“We’re honored that Herzog Jewelers selected us as a partner for this event. How poignant, to be able to gift someone with a piece of jewelry that is not only beautiful, but also supports the work that CHNK does on a daily basis to help abused, neglected, and at-risk youth,” said Rick Wurth, CHNK Chief Executive Officer. “All of us as human beings want to experience beauty. This event marries the beauty and artistry of fine jewelry with the beauty of caring for vulnerable youth and families in need.”

Founded in 1882, Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky operates three campuses – one in Burlington and two in Covington. CHNK carries out its mission to be a community leader providing children and families with opportunity and hope for better lives by taking a family-centered, holistic approach to behavioral health and substance use treatment services for abused, neglected, and at-risk youth. Last year, the Home impacted over 700 youth and families in 36 counties across the Commonwealth. CHNK is a member of the Children’s Alliance, Kentucky’s voice for at-risk children and families.
