St. Elizabeth Healthcare has completed construction on its new $30 million, 40,000-square-foot Heart and Vascular Institute in Edgewood, now open to the community. The new center features a combination of experts and programs that have been created to improve heart health in the region.
To celebrate, there will be an open house Sunday, April 19, from 2-4 p.m. The event also will feature informational booths and heart-healthy activities. The center is at 1 Medical Village Drive.
“The Heart and Vascular Institute is more than a construction project,” said medical director Dr. Victor Schmelzer. “Our goal is to reduce heart-related deaths in Northern Kentucky by 25 percent by the end of 2025. We will do this through increased community screening and education, applying appropriate new technologies and a growing participation in clinical research trials.”
