Melanie Stricker, chair of the Beechwood Board of Education announced that a four-year contract was approved at a special board meeting today for Dr. Mike S. Stacy as superintendent of the Beechwood Independent School District.
“The Board and I are excited to welcome Dr. Stacy and his family to our Beechwood community and look forward to working together as we strive to achieve our mission “To Provide Innovative Education Grounded in Tradition,” said Stricker.

Dr. Stacy has served as the Chief Academic Officer for Woodford County Schools since July 2010. Prior to his work in the Woodford County School District, he served as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Assistant DPP, Head Coach and classroom social studies teacher, in multiple districts, at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Dr. Stacy said, “I am extremely excited to be a part of the Beechwood community and I can’t wait to get started. I am impressed with the history and performance record of Beechwood Independent Schools and I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to help lead such an amazing institution.”
Dr. Stacy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sociology, and History from Georgetown College. He then went on to complete his Master’s of Education in Administration from the University of Kentucky, and earned his doctorate degree in Educational Policy and Leadership at Spalding University in Louisville.
Dr. Stacy is joined in his move to Beechwood by his wife Melody and their three children, Tanner, 15, AnnMarie, 13, and Sam, 10. They are excited about the move to Northern Kentucky.
Dr. Stacy will officially start his new role as Superintendent of Beechwood Independent schools on July 1, 2015.
