Kenton County needs poll workers; Summe cites absentee ballot availability, changes to polling places


The Kenton County Board of Elections is looking for poll workers for the primary election being held on Tuesday, May 19, says Gabrielle Summe, Kenton County Clerk.

A poll worker must be 18 years of age or older, reside in Kenton County and be a registered voter in Kenton County by Election Day, Tuesday, May 19th. The polls are be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Poll workers must report to their assigned polling place by 5:15 a.m.

There is a mandatory training session prior to the election. Poll workers will receive $20.00 for the training class and $125.00 for working the election.

In other voting news, Summe says absentee voting will be available from Friday, May 1, 2015 through Tuesday, May 18, 2015. Voting is only in the Covington office at 303 Court Street, Covington. The Kenton County Clerk’s office will be open for absentee balloting on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Thursdays from 8:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Absentee Voting will also be available on Saturday, May 16th from 9 a.m. to noon in the Covington office.

Changes to polling locations

Summe also announced changes to polling locations but voters can continue to check these at https://vr.sos.ky.gov/vic/

COVINGTON #13 that voted at the VFW Hall will now be voting in the gym at JG Carlisle School, located at 910 Holman Street, Covington. There will now be two precincts in JG Carlisle. The entrance to the gym is located off Banklick Street, which is where the parking lot is also located.

EDGEWOOD #1 and EDGEWOOD #1.5 that voted at the Emeritus Senior Center on Turkeyfoot Road will now be voting in the cafeteria of JA Caywood Elementary which is located at 3300 Turkeyfoot Road, Erlanger. There will be two precincts at this location and they will be voting in the cafeteria.

ERLANGER #12 which voted at New Beginnings Evangelical Presbyterian Church located on Narrows Road will now be voting at ST. BARBARA’S CHURCH at 4042 Turkeyfoot Road, Erlanger. The New Beginnings Evangelical Presbyterian Church is selling its building. There will now be two precincts voting at St. Barbara’s Church.

PARK HILLS #1 and PARK HILLS #2 which voted at The Gardens of Park Hills located at 1622 Dixie Highway will now be voting at ST. AGNES CHURCH UNDERCROFT “MURPHY HALL” at 1680 Dixie Highway. The Gardens of Park Hills had a prior event scheduled for the same day as the primary.

VILLA HILLS #2 and VILLA HILLS #3 which voted at the Madonna Manor Recreation Center at 2344 Amsterdam Road will now be voting at RIVER RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in the gym. Madonna Manor is tearing down the recreation center to build a new one. River Ridge is located at 2772 Amsterdam Road. All of the Villa Hills precincts will now be voting in the school gym.
