In the fifth installment of the series, Robinson’s ninth book, Richard Thompson is thrust back into public life when he is appointed to fill a vacancy in the U.S. Senate. With the nation in mourning over the death of the Vice President all law enforcement is searching for his alleged killer, a young mid-westerner who was working at the White House as an advance man at the time of the assassination. As the young man tries to hide in D.C.’s trendy DuPont Circle neighborhood, the key to proving the man’s innocence may — as he is — be hiding in plain sight. And its discovery could spark a new Cold War.

Author P.J. O’Rourke calls Robinson’s work “… an excellent series of D.C. thrillers.”

Best-selling author Rod Pennington says: “With Advance Man, Rick Robinson demonstrates once again he is the absolute master of political suspense. As usual, Robinson offers the reader an insider’s view of both the geography and the dark underbelly of the ‘business’ side of the company town that is Washington, DC that is both mesmerizing and a bit terrifying. Advance Man grabs you literally by the throat on the first page and then the race is on. If you want a peek behind the curtain for a glimpse of those who pull the strings in our nation’s capital, this book is a must read.”
