COV200 looking for bicentennial volunteers, especially for six-day BB&T Summer Celebration


COV200, the group charged with managing the City of Covington’s bicentennial celebration, is looking for volunteers for the BB&T Summer Celebration, slated for July 9-14, 2015. The celebration will feature six days of activities and musical entertainment hosted on the Covington Landing and in the RiverCenter Blvd block area between Scott Blvd and Madison Ave.

Previously called The Bank of Kentucky Summer Celebration, it was renamed the BB&T Summer Celebration as the bank changes ownership.

imagesVolunteers are needed for a wide variety of positions throughout the weekend, including merchandise sales, ticketing, volunteer check in, set up/tear down and general event area assistants.

“The BB&T Summer Celebration will be a massive event, and as you can imagine that means we will need a lot of volunteers to help bring it to life,” said Normand Desmarais, COV200 Chair. “We’re excited to invite the community to help be a part of the celebration and in making this an experience to remember for years to come.”

The BB&T Summer Celebration hours are 6-10 p.m. Thursday, July 9; 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday, July 10 – Tuesday, July 14. Questions can be directed to Kate Esarey at kate@greatneighborhoods.org.
