Airport adds Smashburger, new services just in time for All-Star game travelers


The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport has added concessions and amenities to enhance the passenger experience in time for the All-Star Game.

“We strive every day to provide a safe, convenient, enjoyable travel environment for our passengers,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer of the airport. “We are the front door to the community. We want our passengers to feel welcome and at home when they travel.”

“We only want the best for our passengers,” said William T. Robinson III, Kenton County Airport Board chairman. “The concessions and amenities added for our passengers keep us on the forefront of technology while bringing in the comforts of home.

Smashburger begins operations at the airport Wednesday. Smashburger is located between gates A9 and A11. Smashburger will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. For more information on concessions at CVG please visit here.

FuelRod, a portable recharging kit, now provides six locations where passengers can buy and/or swap their FuelRod. The initial cost for a rechargeable FuelRod is $20. FuelRod stations are located near the information booth in Concourse A, gate A10, gate A16, near the Delta Sky Club in Concourse B, gate B10 and gate B11. Passengers traveling with children can now enjoy the free Kids Landing Play Area in Concourse A near Starbucks. The airport partnered with PLAYTIME to create a fun, inviting space for kids to play in at the airport. Soft-surface climbing toys Timmy the Turtle and Rodney the Rabbit sit alongside a fun slide all nestled on a padded floor.

  1. I hope that it plans to be open in the evenings. We came through the airport about 9 at night and the place was like a ghost town with nothing open.
