The City of Covington’s waste and recycling programs will officially transition from Republic Services/CSI to Rumpke Waste and Recycling.
As part of Covington’s new trash and recycling program, each household will receive a new city-issued brown, 95-gallon wheeled trash cart. Residents with physical impairments, space constraints (e.g. lots with no yard or storage space), or other concerns can arrange for smaller 35 or 65 gallon carts and discuss disposal alternatives with the city’s Solid Waste and Recycling coordinator, by calling Sheila Fields at (859) 292-2324 or by e-mailing sfields@covingtonky.gov.
Rumpke will begin delivering new trash carts and removing old Republic Services/CSI carts starting on July 6. To aide in the delivery process, please leave all Republic Services/CSI carts at the curb for 48-hours following your scheduled collection day each week, until a city-issued cart is delivered. Collection will remain the same.
All carts will be delivered to the front of the residence. If you are traditionally serviced in the alley, you may move your cart.
Delivery is expected to take 4-6 weeks, with all carts expected to be delivered by mid-August. After trash carts are delivered to all households, Rumpke will then deliver recycling carts to participating homes. Households that choose to participate in recycling will receive a city-issued green, 65-gallon wheeled recycling cart.
To sign up for recycling or if your household doesn’t receive a trash cart by mid-August, please contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537 or covington@rumpke.com.
