The Behringer-Crawford Museum in Covington has a number of concerts, camps and other special events available during the month of July.
For music lovers, there will be four Thursday concerts from 7-9 p.m. at the museum’s amphitheater in Devou Park. The doors will open at 6 p.m. The admission fee for adults is $5 and $3 for children ages 3 to 12. Food and beverages will be available to purchase. The concerts will be held indoors in the event of rain.

The first concert is July 9, featuring The Blue Wisp Big Band. The band specializes in brass jazz, including instruments such as saxophones and trumpets. The second concert is July 16, featuring Leroy Ellington. Ellington and his E-Funk Band is an eight-piece group that specializes in rhythm and blues, funk, soul, pop, rock, blues and standards. The July 23 concert features Tim Goshorn, who has performed blues, country, bluegrass and rock for over four decades. The final concert is July 30, featuring the Latin music of Son Del Caribe.
In addition to the concerts, five one-day summer camps will be held at Devou Park the week of July 13-17 from 9:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to participate. The cost is $30 for museum members and $40 for future members. The cost for all five sessions is $125 for museum members and $175 for future members. On July 13, Mad Scientists camp will teach children about physics, bubbleology and chemistry with magnets and lava lamps. The second camp on July 14, Animal Planet will explore Northern Kentucky wildlife while making animal tracks, collecting natural treasures and hunting for bugs. The July 15 Groovy Artists camp will teach children how to use recycled materials to weave baskets and make pinch pots. On July 16, American Indians camp will show children how to create crafts such as a tom-tom and bearclaw necklace. The final camp on July 17, Up, Up and Away! will teach children how to make paper planes and kites.
During the month, the museum will host Tot Tuesdays! on July 21 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Admission fees are as follows: $7 for adults, $6 for seniors 60 and over, $4 for children and free for museum members. There is also a craft fee of $1 per child. Toddlers will hear a picnic story, sing songs, craft paper ants carrying a watermelon and receive a snack.
Also, the Madcap Puppets will be at Devou Park on Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m. The puppets will perform “Aladdin & Friends.” The admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to12.
