‘Legendary’ Music@BCM concert includes local performer Tim Goshorn July 23

For more than four decades, Tim Goshorn has been a mainstay on the local music scene. He brings his synthesis of blues, country, bluegrass and rock to Devou Park as part of Behringer-Crawford Museum’s Music@BCM series.

Goshorn and his brother Larry began their musical careers with a group called Mushroom Jones before joining The Pure Prairie League, an American country rock band founded in the late 1960s in Waverly, Ohio. In 1978, the pair left the League to form the Goshorn Brothers. They performed with a host of excellent players in the following years, releasing their first album in 1994, followed by several more successful LPs and CDs. The brothers have been inducted into the Northern Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.

The Tim Goshorn concert takes place outdoors in BCM’s amphitheater overlooking Devou Park. In the event of rain, the performance moves indoors. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. BCM members admitted free with a paying guest. Adult beverages will be available for purchase; Behringer Crawford members will receive one free drink ticket. Concertgoers also can purchase great food from Colonial Cottage and support local youth and community organizations in the process

The next Music@BCM concert, “Hot! Hot! Hot!,” featuring salsa specialists Son Del Caribe, takes place Thursday, July 30. The music continues with Robin Lacy and DeZydeco on August 6, The Company on August 13 and “Blues ’n’ Bourbon Redux” featuring Cheryl Renée, the “Goddess of the Blues,” on August 20.

The museum is located at 1600 Montague Road-Devou Park in Covington. For more information about BCM, call (859) 491-4003, email info@bcmuseum.org or click here.
