The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Women’s Initiative will host the candidates for lieutenant governor at a breakfast on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Republican Jenean Hampton and Democrat Sannie Overly will speak about their experiences as women in politics.

State Rep. Overly is a practicing attorney from Paris. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2008. She was chosen as the first woman to chair the House Budget Review Subcommittee on Transportation in 2009 and as the first female House Majority Caucus Chair in 2013.
Jenean Hampton has used her leadership experience in the public and private sector to engage actively in political and civic organizations in Bowling Green where she lives. These include the American Legion, Civil Air Patrol, and the Bowling Green Women’s Club. Ms. Hampton served as an officer for the U. S. Air Force before beginning a 19-year career in the corrugated packaging industry.
At the breakfast event, entitled “Women in Politics: Perspectives from Candidates for Lieutenant Governor”, Rep. Overly and Ms. Hampton will share stories about how they came to be involved in politics, details about their experiences campaigning for and holding office, and insights about the critical issues present in the 2015 Kentucky gubernatorial race.
The event will be held at The Pinnacle, located in The Grand, 6 E. Fifth St., Covington, from 8 to 10 a.m.
The cost to attend the breakfast is $35 for chamber members and $50 for future members. Reservations can be made by going here or by calling Pam Mastruserio at (859)-578-6384.
Sannie Overly is running on the Democratic ticket with Jack Conway, currently the state attorney general. Jenean Hampton is running on the Republican ticket with Matt Bevin, a Louisville businessman. The election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3.
