Get your dancing shoes on for a potent mix of high-energy salsa. Son Del Caribe comes to Music@BCM for a “Hot! Hot! Hot!” night.
Son Del Caribe frequently accompanies top performers and international bands, and performs regularly at universities, dance clubs, concerts and music festivals. Its lively, danceable repertoire runs the musical gamut from salsa to merengue, cumbia, son, bomba, plena, and bachata. Don’t know how to salsa? Don’t worry – the band’s expert dancers will have you up and swinging your hips in no time.

Part of Behringer-Crawford Museum’s 2015 Music@BCM series, the Son Del Caribe concert takes place outdoors in BCM’s amphitheater at 1600 Montague Road-Devou Park in Covington. In the event of rain, the performance moves indoors. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the performance from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. BCM members admitted free with a paying guest.
Adult beverages will be available for purchase; Behringer Crawford members will receive one free drink ticket. Concertgoers also can purchase food from Colonial Cottage and support local youth and community organizations in the process.
The next Music@BCM concert, Crawfish Ramble, featuring Robin Lacy and DeZydeco, takes place on Aug. 6, followed by The Company on Aug. 13 and “Goddess of the Blues” Cheryl Renee on Aug. 20.
