Heavy rain forces postponement of Freedom-Slammers game; doubleheader set for Thursday

The Florence Freedom and the Joliet Slammers’ game Tuesday was postponed due to rain and a tornado warning in the Joliet area.

Florence and Joliet will play their regularly scheduled 8:05 p.m. game on Wednesday and then play a doubleheader on Thursday. First pitch of game one on Thursday is set for 5 p.m.

The Freedom are in the midst of a six-game road trip that will also take them to Schaumburg for a three-game set this weekend. Florence returns home on Aug. 26 to take on Rockford.
