Justice Cabinet announces $2 million in funds to combat violence against women, support victims


The federal Violence Against Women Act Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution program received $2 million in funding for public safety grants through. VAWA STOP grants may be used to support service delivery and related assistance to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and sexual assault.

All applications must be submitted via the online Kentucky Justice Electronic Grants Management System. New applicants are strongly encouraged to establish a user account and familiarize themselves with the system well in advance of the due date. Please note: validation of new user accounts will take 48-72 hours.

Applications for the funding are due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 15. Awards are scheduled to be announced in December 2015.
