The Kentucky Transportation District 6 Office would like to notify the public that a pavement repair and resurfacing project on US 25 and US 42 in Kenton and Boone Counties is scheduled to begin.
The project is scheduled for US 25 (Dixie Highway) starting at Hallam Avenue continuing to US 42 ending at Ewing Boulevard, totaling 2.9 miles.
“This project will address pavement base failures that cause many of the reoccurring potholes,” said Rob Hans, Chief District Engineer for Department of Highways District 6, in Covington, “Then we will apply a new asphalt surface on this section of roadway that will provide a safer and smoother ride.”
Eaton Asphalt Paving Co., Inc. of Walton, KY was awarded the low-bid contract of $1.1 million for this project.
Starting Monday, August 10, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement and storm sewer repairs will take place during the daytime hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Once that work is complete, approximately August 24, the asphalt work will begin during the night time hours between 8 p.m. until 6 p.m. the next morning. Motorists should watch for lanes closures and crews during work hours; the project activities will be weather dependent.
The scheduled completion date for the project is November 15, 2015.
