Pete Rose to be roasted at Florence Freedom final regular-season game against Windy City Sept. 3


The Hit King is coming, and he better be prepared because on Thursday, September 3 at the Florence Freedom, Pete Rose will be roasted at UC Health Stadium.

The Roast of Pete Rose, presented by Jack Lillie Insurance, will conclude a summer of marquee promotional events for the Florence Freedom’s 2015 regular season.

The complete lineup of Pete’s roasters will be announced next week.

The September 3 event marks the final game of the regular season for the Florence Freedom as they will take on the Windy City Thunderbolts. Game time has been moved from 6:35pm to 7:05pm.

The Roast will occur pre-game and take place on the infield near the pitcher’s mound.

Fans can have a more special Pete Rose experience and sit on the field for an upfront view of the roast, and meet Pete pre-game by purchasing a VIP meet ‘n greet package.

VIP Meet ‘n Greet packages include:
• Seat on the infield for The Roast of Pete Rose (only those with the Meet & Greet package are eligible to sit on the field for the pre-game roast)
• Picture: Collector’s edition 8×10 flat of Pete Rose 4192 image bearing ‘The Roast of Pete Rose’ Logo
• Autograph: Autograph on the 8×10 flat OR on any Freedom memorabilia item by Rose. Ability to add up to one additional autograph on Freedom memorabilia OR pay an additional rate for an autograph on any memorabilia item (call 859-594-4487 ex 34 for pricing)

• Q&A session with Rose for those fans that participate in the Meet ‘n Greet

Standard event tickets start at just $14. Most of the seats in the seating bowl nearest where Pete will be roasted and coaching (1B and 3B) will be $18. Fans with tickets for the event will enjoy ‘The Roast of Pete Rose’, the Freedom game and participating in the post-game “TP the Ballpark”.

Gates will open for all fans at 4:30pm. “The Roast” is scheduled for 5:20 – 6:10pm. For those participating in the VIP Meet ‘n Greet, gates open at 3:15pm.

With the addition of “The Roast of Pete Rose” promotion, the traditional Thirsty Thursday $1 beer promotion will be suspended. Beer prices will be at standard prices for the September 3 game.

September 3 events include:
• The ‘Roast of Pete Rose’ pre-game
• Pete Rose delivering line-up card to umpires
• Pete Rose’s ceremonial lead-off in bottom of the 1st inning
• Pete Rose coaching 1st & 3rd base
• Pete Rose signing autographs & taking photos on the concourse during the game (additional charges apply)
• Post-game TP the Ballpark courtesy of Stigler Supply as part of the “That’s a Wrap, Have a Roll” promotion.

Fans with purchased Turn 2 Flex Plan vouchers are eligible to exchange the ticket vouchers for an additional $4 or $8 depending on the chosen seat location.

No season ticket exchanges, rainout exchanges or voucher exchanges are permitted for the September 3rd game. Birthday packages and group hospitality areas will subject to a $4 upcharge on tickets for this event. Kids’ club memberships are not valid for this event.

In 2014, the Freedom became the first professional baseball organization to retire Pete Rose’s No. 14. Rose appeared at the Freedom on September 2 of last season.
