The two-day event will explore strategic approaches and innovative techniques that advance philanthropic goals, help nonprofits improve sustainability and create economic opportunities for our communities. A variety of panel discussions and presentations will examine how to identify critical assets, recognize areas of greatest need and develop effective solutions.

As in previous years, the summit kicks off with a working meeting of the Endow Kentucky Commission. This meeting is open to the public and the agenda will include an update on the Endow Kentucky Tax-credit Program. The first full membership meeting of the Kentucky Chapter of the Social Enterprise Alliance will also be held on the first day of the summit. The SEA meeting is free to members and will be followed by a welcome reception and Social Enterprise Marketplace.

Included among the panels for the second year will be a discussion titled “What Kentucky Needs.” Lead by retired journalist and editor with the Louisville Courier-Journal, David Hawpe, leaders in the areas of philanthropy, policy and business development will explore why Kentucky fails to dream big and must strive to set the standard in innovative solutions.

Recipients of the 2015 Commonwealth Award, individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in the field of philanthropy in Kentucky through service, innovation, commitment, and/or lifetime achievement, will be recognized during a luncheon on the second day.
