Behringer-Crawford Museum (BCM) will open its doors free of charge on Saturday, September 26 as part of Smithsonian Magazine’s 11th annual Museum Day Live!
The event is observed by participating museums across the country.
It is designed to emulate the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, DC-based facilities, which offer free admission every day as part of its commitment to make learning and the spread of knowledge accessible to everyone.
Last year, Museum Day Live! drew more than 400,000 participants nationwide.
The Museum Day Live! tickets, available for download here , are good for free admission to BCM for two people on September 26 only. Downloads are limited to one per email address.
BCM is a family-friendly museum which celebrates the unique arts, heritage and culture of Northern Kentucky as part of the Ohio Valley.
Visitors can examine a mammoth fossil, take a ride through time with the beautifully restored 1892 streetcar “Kentucky,” activate the engines, lights and music of a miniature, mid-century community in the Faragher G-gauge train display or watch a drive-in movie from the seat of a 1959 Buick Electra convertible.
Art lovers can view works by prominent regional artists, such as Mary Bruce Sharon, Wolfgang Ritschel, Harlan Hubbard and others
BCM is located in Devou Park, 1600 Montague Road, in Covington.
In Cincinnati, The Betts House, Taft Museum of Art, the Cincinnati Fire Museum, and Xavier University Art Gallery are participating.
