Freedom begin final homestand of the 2015 regular season with one-game edge for playoff spot


Florence has three home games remaining as they make the only playoff push fans can watch in the Greater Cincinnati area.

The Freedom is one game ahead of the Rockford Aviators for the final spot in the Frontier League playoffs with six games remaining. The Freedom hold the tiebreaker if they finish in a tie with Rockford for the playoffs. Three of the six remaining games are at home starting on Tuesday.

The Freedom welcome the Windy City ThunderBolts to town Tuesday for a three-game series at UC Health Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with Cody Gray (3-2, 4.04 ERA) on the mound. The Freedom have won eight of the 10 games Gray has started this season.

Florence has won eight of its last 10 games entering Tuesday’s action. The Freedom (46-44) are looking to make their third appearance in the Frontier League playoffs in the last four years.
