The Luther Charitable Foundation will present a check to Sister Diane Mack of Carmel Manor in support of the facility’s expansion and renovation project on Tuesday, Sept 29.
Representatives from the Luther Charitable Foundation will present the funds at 1:30 p.m. in the Lobby of Carmel Manor located at 100 Carmel Manor Road in Ft. Thomas.
Carmel Manor is working on an expansion project that includes an addition to its existing building and some key renovations that will allow it to continue serving the needs of the community.
Construction is currently underway for the new addition, which will feature a rehabilitation center, a memory care center and an enclosed memory garden.
Included in the project is the renovation of the existing nursing facility to allow for additional private rooms and upgraded amenities.
Sister Diane Mack, administrator at Carmel Manor said it is an exciting time for the facility.
“We are blessed to have dedicated and caring staff who bring their best efforts to work each day to help our residents, she said. “As autumn is upon us we look forward to cooler days, brilliant colors, and gentle reminders of God’s great love for us. May He continue to bless each of you for your kindness and support of Carmel Manor, the Carmelite Sisters and our mission of caring for the elderly.”
Carmel Manor is sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters, whose sole mission is to care for the aged and infirm.
The Diocese of Covington asked the Carmelite Sisters to purchase and administer the Carmel Manor in 1948, and the first residents came in 1949. Prior to this latest upgrade renovations and additions at the facility were done in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1980s.
Two levels of care – personal and skilled nursing – are provided in the Ft. Thomas facility: personal care and skilled nursing care.
The H.B., E.W. and F.R. Luther Charitable Foundation was created to continue the efforts of philanthropist Francis R. Luther in the region.
Those interested in more information or in contributing to the campaign, should contact Carmel Manor development director Scott Johnson at (859) 781-5111.
