The NKY Chamber will present the 2015 Recipient of the Unity Award at its annual dinner Thursday night to myNKY, a strategic planning process involving hundreds of residents and businesses that helped re-form Vision 2015 into Skyward.
The effort to create the myNKY strategic plan began with an in-depth public engagement process involving residents and businesses, as well as education, government, and civic leaders in order to develop a shared vision for our community and how it will evolve over the next five years.
During a six-month engagement campaign, over 15,000 ideas were generated from the community. Narrowing the 15,000+ ideas into a succinct, actionable vision and agenda for the community was no easy task.
A dedicated team of close to 30 professionals, representing a diverse constituent base, formed nine working groups who then engaged over 300 volunteers to craft the vision and focus areas of the myNKY strategic plan.

Our vision: Northern Kentucky is acclaimed for connecting education, business, wellness, and creativity in innovative, inclusive, productive ways. To accomplish this vision, the myNKY strategic plan highlights four equally important goals designed to work together for economic prosperity and civic progress – Jobs, Health, Vibrancy, and Education. Each goal is paired with specific strategies and measures for success.
The Unity Award sponsored by PNC Bank, is presented to an individual or individuals who have shown leadership in seeking regional solutions to Northern Kentucky’s issues and challenges, and encouraging residents to address and solve them together.
The Chamber’s annual dinner will be held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, starting at 5 p.m. with cocktails and 6:30 p.m. for dinner and program.
