Frank Cetrulo kicked a 35-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to give Brossart a 24-21 win over Bellevue in one of the Saturday morning high school football games that was postponed on Friday night due to lightning and rain.

The win gives the Mustangs a 3-0 start under second-year head coach Paul Wiggins after finishing last year with a 1-8 record.
Senior quarterback Craig Pfeffermann scored all three of the Mustangs’ touchdowns in Saturday’s game. He also completed 11 of 20 passes for 208 yards. In addition to kicking the game-winning field goal, Cetrulo rushed for 58 yards on 15 carries, caught five passes for 62 yards and kicked three extra-points.
After Brossart took the lead with less than four minutes left in the game, junior defensive back Derek Schadler clinched the victory by recovering a fumble to end Bellevue’s last possession.

Lloyd sophomore quarterback Jordan Fann turned a broken pass play into a game-winning 10-yard touchdown run in overtime.
Grant County got the first possession in overtime and Matthew Boden kicked a 30-yard field goal to give the home team a 33-30 lead. On Lloyd’s overtime possession, Fann dropped back to pass and had to scramble to avoid a sack before making his run to the end zone.
Fann also completed 10 of 24 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown. Lloyd’s leading rusher was Justin Durham, who picked up 153 yards on 17 carries and scored two TDs.

NewCath scored 28 straight points in the second half to come away with its first victory of the season.
Trailing 13-0 at halftime, NewCath scored on its first possession of the third quarter to begin the comeback. The Thoroughbreds took the lead in the fourth quarter when senior running backs Jacob Smith and John Harris each had a 1-yard run into the end zone. Erik Anderson capped the NewCath rally with a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Campbell County quarterback Carson Plessinger threw his second touchdown pass of the game after that interception, but an onsides kick attempt by the Camels failed and NewCath was able to run out the clock.

Simon Kenton’s high-powered offense reached the 50-point mark for the third consecutive game with junior quarterback Cameron Racke and senior running back Dillion Powell leading the way.
Racke threw two touchdown passes, scored on a 9-yard run and ran in a two-point conversion. Dillion caught one of the touchdown passes, scored on a 14-yard run and also ran in a two point conversion.
The Simon Kenton defense also played well. The Pioneers shut out a Conner offense that scored 48 points in a season-opening win over Boone County last week.

Scott scored 42 points in the first quarter with touchdowns coming on three running plays, two pass plays and a punt return.
Senior tailback Roberto London scored on runs of 12 and 64 yards. Senior quarterback Danny Fitzgerald threw TD passes to Damon Nolan and Ryan Muck. Nelson Perrin capped off the scoring spree with a 28-yard run and 40-yard punt return to the end zone.
During its 3-0 start, Scott has outscored opponents by a combined total of 105-20.

Covington Catholic was limited to 97 yards in total offense in the game. The Colonels’ longest play from scrimmage was a 36-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback A.J. Mayer to junior wide receiver Ben France in the third quarter.
The Colonels finished with a net total of zero rushing yards while Sycamore’s running game accounted for 361 yards and four touchdowns. Sycamore’s team leaders were Clarence Dawson with 199 yards on 13 carries and Ra’von Bonner with 111 yards on 14 carries.
CovCath is off to an 0-3 start for the first time since 2009. In their last two games against Ohio Division I opponents St. Xavier and Sycamore, the Colonels were outscored 99-14.

After Holmes scored a touchdown with a little over a minute remaining in the game, Andrew Arnold caught a pass from Desean Brumfield for a two-point conversion that gave the Bulldogs the victory.
The game-winning scoring drive ended with 3-yard run into the end zone by Salih Abdullah that made it 14-13. Instead of attempting an extra-point kick that would have tied the score, Holmes coach Ben Nevels decided to go for the two-point conversion.
It was the first win of the season for Holmes after losing its first two games by margins of four and six points.

After taking a 28-14 lead in the first half, Dixie Heights struggled on offense and Milford mounted a comeback for the victory.
Dixie Heights senior Jose Torres had touchdown runs of 76 and 2 yards in the first half. He also plays linebacker on defense and scored on a 43-yard interception return. The Colonels’ other TD came on a 35-yard run by quarterback Gunther Faeth.

DAYTON 19, PENDLETON COUNTY 14
Dayton sophomore running back Xavier Hundemer scored the game-winning touchdown on an 8-yard run with less than seven minutes left and defensive back Phillip McDaniel intercepted a pass to end Pendleton County’s final possession.
McDaniel also scored a touchdown on a 92-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. The Greendevils’ other TD came on a 9-yard run by quarterback Dylan Adams.
Pendleton County finished with a 248-197 advantage in total yards, but the Wildcats commited three turnovers and Dayton had only one.

Ryle quarterbacks Tanner Morgan and Aaron O’Hara passed for a combined total of 273 yards and three touchdowns in their team’s third straight victory.
The Raiders’ longest scoring plays were a 69-yard pass from Morgan to Bryce Ashley in the first quarter and a 71-yard pass from O’Hara to Aaron Wright in the second quarter. O’Hara was also the team’s leading rusher with 67 yards on six carries and one TD.
Ryle finished with 465 yards of total offense while limiting Boone County to 165 yards. The Rebels have been outscored 146-26 during their 0-3 start.
