Imagine a room filled with brilliant young minds demonstrating aeronautics, LEGO-based robots solving real-world engineering challenges, students showing teachers how to use iPads so they can be more efficient and effective in the classroom, and gamification to enhance learning of STEAM skills and health education.
These are just a few examples of innovative learning in the Boone County Schools that will be featured at the annual “Celebration of Innovation in Education” luncheon on October 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Receptions Banquet and Conference Center in Erlanger.
The inaugural Boone County Education Foundation Innovation Award, which recognizes outstanding efforts made by an individual, business or organization to foster innovation in Boone County schools will be presented at the event.

It will go to the Leadership Northern Kentucky Class of 2015 for their many efforts to create the NKY Makerspace.
“There are so many exciting partnership and programs going on within the Boone County School District to support STEAM and 21st century skills. I am thrilled that the Boone County Education Foundation can shine a spotlight on the teachers and students who are using technology and creativity to solve real-world challenges,” said Staci Leiker, chair of the Foundation Board.
