This year marks the 24th year that the Friends of Covington will honor home owners and business owners with Beautification Awards that recognize people who have invested time, energy and money into making their homes and the City of Covington a more attractive place to live, work and play.
Like those who have been honored in the past, the 2015 winners are located in a long list of neighborhoods that stretch from a home that is a stone’s throw from the Ohio River in the Historic Licking-Riverside neighborhood to a home at the opposite end of the city in South Covington.
This year’s winners encompass complete restorations/renovations with six-figure budgets to projects that may have called for no more than a couple of gallons of paint and a few hours of sweat equity.
There are 19 winners this year from 17 Covington neighborhoods. Historic Licking-Riverside and Old Seminary Square each had two winners this year.
The awards will be presented on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Behringer-Crawford Museum in Covington’s Devou Park. A reception will begin at 5:30 and the awards will be presented at 6:30. The event is free and open to the public.
