Staff Report
The Northern Kentucky Area Development District has provided updated information regarding transportation services as a result of the closure of Senior Services of Northern Kentucky.
SSNK provided transportation services to multiple agencies as well as the general public. A variety of partners convened to attempt to bridge the gap to maintain as much continuity as possible.
There are resource constraints and as such, priorities will be given to dialysis and medical appointments. We are encouraging SSNK transportation clients to use the list below to access transportation resources. Please call during normal business hours.

This is an excerpt regarding transportation services from a previous Northern Kentucky Tribune story based on information provided by the NKADD:
* Transportation services are more diverse and under the umbrella of numerous organizations. For NKADD Title II clients, the potential transition will likely be to current home care agency providers. LKLP operates the Medicaid Brokerage contract for the eight NKy counties. SSNK says they are working with LKLP to continue these services. Agencies such as BAWAC, New Perceptions, Redwood and others are also working to ensure that SSNK-served clients will have transportation to their respective programs and workshops. TANK will continue to provide services to existing RAMP clients eligible under ADA. TANK may provide temporary gap coverage as necessary. Future transportation needs that are non-Medicaid are being directed to the NKADD Aging and Disabilities Resource Center (895.692.2480) for referral to the appropriate agencies and resources.
In the meantime, the board of United Way of Greater Cincinnati has voted to temporarily set aside the 2015 funds that would have been provided to Senior Services of NKY.
“United Way’s funding of services to Northern Kentucky seniors is extremely important for the Northern Kentucky community,” said Rob Reifsnyder, UWGC president. “We’ll be working with our Northern Kentucky volunteer leaders and agency partners to determine how these funds can be reallocated to insure continue services to seniors.”
United Way representatives have been engaged in ongoing discussions with the NKADD to help determine the appropriate long-term solution to providing comprehensive and reliable services to seniors.
Campbell County Judge-Executive Steve Pendery said, “Over the last few days, the cooperation among local services providers with the leadership of NKADD and the eight Northern Kentucky counties has been exceptional.”
