U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. will be the featured speaker at the weekly meeting of the Florence Rotary Club at the Airport Hilton in Florence Monday.
Despite a drop in the polls Paul remains a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. Paul’s slip in the polls coincides with increases by candidates Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson and the continued strength of Donald Trump.
The visit, however, is in his official capacity as a U.S. Senator and is not a campaign stop.
The visit marks the second time in less than two months that a U.S. Senator has addressed the Florence Rotary Club. On Aug. 24, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was the club’s featured speaker.
The Rotary Club meeting begins at noon.
