After breaking ground earlier this year, the third still at Marker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto is up and running.
Bourbon is flowing, thanks to fastidiousness and hands-on bourbon-making.
Maker’s Mark Distillery’s third still is made of solid copper and stands at approximately 45ft. tall and 3ft. in diameter. The new still will join two new boilers, 21 more fermenters and a new grain roller.
The third still, a mirror image of the distillery’s two existing stills, will increase Maker’s Mark production by about 850,000 more Mint Juleps’ worth of Maker’s Mark per day.
Master Distiller Greg Davis has his eye on the time-honored process, quality and consistency set forth by founder Bill Samuels Sr. over 60 years ago.
Maker’s Mark Distillery is one of the state’s most popular estimations, and notably the first distillery in America to be recognized as a National Historic Landmark.
Maker’s Mark offers a truly unique, intimate experience that sheds light on the specialness and tradition of making Kentucky bourbon.
