The St. Henry and Highlands girls’ cross country teams and Highlands senior Ethan Shuley won championship trophies at the Kentucky high school state cross country met on Saturday at Kentucky Horse Park.
Shuley won the Class 2A boys’ race for the second straight year by completing the 5,000-meter course in 15 minutes, 33.47 seconds. He beat the winning time he had last year by 25 seconds.

St. Henry claimed the Class 1A girls’ team title for the fifth consecutive year with five runners among the top 23 finishers. The Crusaders’ final score was 60 points and Beechwood placed second with 103.
Highlands finished on top in the Class 2A girls’ team standings for the fourth straight year with 53 points. Five of the Bluebirds placed among the top 19 runners in that race.
