The Boone County Child Support Office has received the “Top Performing Large County Award” from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services.
The award was presented to Boone County Attorney, Robert Neace, who oversees the program, by Department for Income Support Commissioner Steve Veno.
“It is an honor to receive this award and it is a testament to the skill and diligence of my child support staff and Assistant County Attorneys,” said Neace. “We collected over $14.5 million last fiscal year and have consistently ranked as one of the top performing child support programs in the Commonwealth. “
Neace said he is most proud of the county’s cost effectiveness.
“We are the best performing child support program in the Commonwealth in that regard by collecting over $16.50 for each dollar of funding,” Neace said. “The national average is $5.25 and the Kentucky average is $6.45. I believe we provide a great return for the investment.”
Regardless of awards and statistics, Neace wants even better results.
“The children of Boone County and parents who are owed child support need and deserve our best effort,” Neace said. “We will continue to strive to get better.”
