Matt Teaford files to run against long-time incumbent Dennis Keene for state House District 67 seat

Matt Teaford, 23, has signed the final paperwork to take on long-time Democratic incumbent of Kentucky’s House District 67, Dennis Keene.

The district includes the northern fringe of Campbell County and includes the cities of Highland Heights, Wilder, Southgate, Newport, Bellevue, Dayton, Silver Grove, and Melbourne.

“I think that a lot of people feel like they don’t have a voice in our political process anymore. People feel like they have no say in what happens due to a lack of care from political officials. I’m tired of the corruption that goes on at a state and city level, and I aim to give that voice back to the people. I will do everything in my power to work with both parties to form more holistic solutions while protecting our state’s rights,” said Teaford.

Teaford says he’ll run on the Republican ticket, describing himself as “moderate/Libertarian-minded.”

A lifelong resident of District 67, Teaford is an avid supporter of educational freedom, education reform, drug reform, heightened transparency, and economic development. He believes that his district is the ideal location for tourism that has yet to be fully tapped.

If elected he would be one of the youngest to ever hold a seat in Kentucky’s legislature.
