Nurse Anesthetists to launch education campaign on the difference they make to patients ‘one at a time’

Nurse anesthetists around the county will educate the public on how they make a difference to their patients and the U.S. healthcare system during the 17th annual National CRNA Week observance January 24-20.

This year’s theme, “Making a Difference, One Patient at the Time” reflects how CRNA’s dedicate themselves to each of their patients before, during and after surgery. CRNAs stay with their patients throughout their procedures to ensure the safest anesthesia possible.

More than 49,000 CRNAs and student registered nurse anesthetists provide approximately 40 million anesthetics to patients in the U.S. each year, delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care as other anesthesia professionals at a lower costs, helping to control the nation’s rising healthcare costs, according to a spokesperson for the organization.

“Our patients and their safe journey through surgery is our priority,” said Alicia Ingram, CRNA, president of the Kentucky Association of Nurse Anesthetist.

“We care for them at a very vulnerable time in their lives, and it is an honor to provide safe, quality anesthesia for all of our patients, one at a time We are there for every heartbeat, every breath.”
