Shannon Starkey-Taylor joins Children Inc.

Shannon Starkey-Taylor, MSW/M.Ed, has joined Children, Inc; as chief operating officer to oversee programs across the agency.

She will work both with Chief Executive Officer Rick Hulefeld and with other key management to support daily operations.

Starkey-Taylor’s responsibilities include oversight of operations, administrative and reporting procedures, strategies and people systems.

Starkey-Taylor has specialized in the early childhood, education, and social work fields for more than 22 years. Prior to joining Children, Inc., she was the chief operating officer at Rettsyndrome.org, which is the world’s leading private provider of research and family support services for individuals affected with Rett Syndrome. Prior to Rettsyndrome.org, she was the Vice President of Strategic Development at Children’s Home of Cincinnati, where she was responsible for new program development, marketing and ensuring the agency met their strategic goals. She has provided leadership in many children’s social service initiatives, including Help Me Grow, Every Child Succeeds, Success by 6, and Ohio’s Early Childhood Cabinet Fiscal Workgroup. She was instrumental in founding The Consortium for Resilient Young Children and was the past chair of this community collaboration.

Jennifer Holder joins KFB Insurance-Kenton

Jennifer Holder has been appointed as a new agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Insurance at the Kenton County Farm Bureau–Erlanger Agency. Holder’s appointment was announced in Louisville by Chuck Osborne, Vice President of Agency Support & Marketing for KFB Insurance.

In her new position, Holder will call on the residents of Kenton County to offer a wide variety of insurance coverage through KFB Insurance. She will work with Agency Manager, Cathy Carlson, and the staff at Kenton County Farm Bureau located at 510 Graves Avenue, Suite 208, Erlanger and can be reached by phone at 342-5518.

Holder joins a well-established network of approximately 400 Kentucky Farm Bureau agents statewide. The company, founded in 1944, has offices in all of the commonwealth’s 120 counties. Farm Bureau markets a wide variety of insurance lines, from homeowner’s and automobile coverage to life and health insurance and retirement planning.

The insurance services are affiliated with Kenton County Farm Bureau, one of the largest membership organizations in the county. Farm Bureau members have access to a variety of membership services, including discount buying programs, college scholarships, farm marketing, and leadership development activities.

Scarf It Up’s Tammy Simpson accepts gift from DaVita

Scarf It Up For Those In Need recently received a $1,000 donation from DaVita HealthCare Partners through their program “DaVita Way of Giving.”

Scarf It Up For Those In Need is a non-profit organization which provides handmade scarves to inner city youth, homeless, the elderly and others in need. Scarf It Up For Those In Need is a 100 percent volunteer organization that started in 2003 dispersing 500 handmade scarves. In 2015, Scarf it Up For Those In Need distributed 11,000 scarves, along with hats and gloves, to agencies who serve the poor and needy in Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area.

“Our organization is so grateful to DaVita HealthCare Partners for this generous contribution,” stated Executive Director, Tammy Simpson. “The spirit of cooperation they bring to help others is remarkable.”
