VisitMyrtleBeach.com renews sponsorship for Kentucky Speedway’s fall NASCAR XFINITY race

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has renewed as the title sponsor of the Saturday, Sept. 24 NASCAR XFINITY Series race, the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300.

The Myrtle Beach area welcomes over 17 million visitors annually, many of whom travel from Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana to experience true southern hospitality along 60 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches.

“We are excited to continue our successful partnership at Kentucky Speedway with the NASCAR XFINITY VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 race,” said executive vice president of marketing for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Scott Schult. “NASCAR and a Myrtle Beach vacation are both winning family experiences built on fun and excitement. This partnership affords us the opportunity to build our customer base in the region and beyond.”

The VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway will conclude a two-race weekend that begins Friday, Sept. 23 with the ARCA Racing Series Crosley 150.

“Myrtle Beach returning for its third year as entitlement sponsor is a big win for Kentucky Speedway and our fans,” said Kentucky Speedway general manager Mark Simendinger. “This sponsor delivers fun, whether it is at the races or with its millions of annual visitors.”

NASCAR announced on Jan. 18 that the playoff system introduced to the Cup Series in 2014 will be implemented in the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series starting this season.

“This year should be the best yet, as the Visit Myrtle Beach.com 300 takes the national spotlight as the kickoff event in the inaugural NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase to the Championship,” said Simendinger.

The XFINITY Series and Truck Series Chase will feature 12 drivers and two elimination rounds – the Round of 12 and Round of 8, with four drivers competing in the Championship 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The 2016 season at Kentucky Speedway begins in July with the return of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend anchored by the July 9 Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts. The Camping World Truck Series starts the weekend with the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 Thursday, July 7 and the XFINITY Series Alsco 300 Friday, July 8.
