Cinderella’s Closet seeks gently used formal wear, accessories so every girl has a chance to go to prom

Cinderella’s Closet of Northern Kentucky will hold its annual formal dress drive on Saturday at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park.

The nonprofit will collect new and gently used formal wear during its 10th annual giveaway weekend. It is in need of new or gently used promo dresses and bridesmaid’s dresses, high heel formal shoes and formal purses less than three years old.

These donations help Cinderella’s Closet “turn dresses into dreams” for young women who otherwise could not afford to attend prom.

Cinderella’s Closet is also in need of Glass Slipper Sponsors to help add the finishing touches to the dress of a princesses’ dreams. Cinderella’s Closet is especially in need of donations of rhinestone “prom-type” jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and adjustable rings. Many of these items can be found on clearance at tri-state stores.

Donations can be dropped off on Saturday from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church at 2551 Dixie Highway in Lakeside Park.

Cinderella’s Closet will be held March 18-19 at two locations: Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park and at Center Pointe Church in Liberty Township. The formal wear will be provided to girls referred to the organized by their school, community organization or social care agency.
