The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Women’s Basketball Committee has announced the games times for the sectional round games being played at Thomas More College’s Connor Convocation Center on Friday and Saturday.
Carnegie Mellon University and Washington University in St. Louis will play at 5 p.m., in the first game on Friday and Thomas More plays Maryville (Tenn.) College at 7 p.m.
The two winners from Friday will play at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday for the right to advance to the national semifinals in Columbus, Ohio on March 19.
Ticket prices will be $7 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students, while children ages two and under are free.
Thomas More will have pre-sale of its ticket allotment on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. inside the athletic department office at the Connor Convocation Center. Doors will open on Friday at 4 p.m. and on Saturday at 5 p.m.
The No. 1 ranked and undefeated Saints advanced to the Sweet 16 on Saturday with a 92-40 win over Guilford College. Thomas More, seeking its second consecutive NCAA Division III National Championship, is 29-0 this year and 61-0 over the past two seasons.
Thomas More has lost just one game in the past three years.
Senior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) led all scorers with 26 points in the win over Guilford. She was joined in double-figure scoring by sophomore guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) with 16 points and sophomore forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 14 points.
