Master Provisions is a faith-based organization that provides food to a 19-county area around Greater Cincinnati and clothing and orphan care both in the U.S. . and around the world. Flywheel is a nonprofit that helps nonprofits to select and build social enterprises that will enhance their social missions long-term and generate unrestricted income that will support the organization.

Master Provisions’ social enterprise creates jobs by engaging drivers to operate its fleet of refrigerated and other vehicles to earn revenue when they are not in use for regular mission-related activities. Flywheel’s team will solidify a transportation business plan to expand social enterprise and support Master Provisions’ core mission activities. The social enterprise is led by John Eldridge, Director of Local Outreach and Food Operations for Master Provisions.

In making the award, Flywheel Executive Director Bill Tucker said “Master Provisions was chosen because its social enterprise has proven its viability, has measureable social impact and a strong potential for scalability. This aligns with Flywheel’s mission to support social entrepreneurs that have the potential to make significant, sustainable social impact.”

Roger Babik, Master Provisions President, commented, “We are confident that Flywheel’s team of experts will help us to improve all aspects of our transportation services. Our Board, staff and volunteers are excited to be working with the Flywheel team to expand our social enterprise capabilities while strengthening relationships in the local business community.”
