With the 2015-16 Horizon League women’s basketball schedule complete, the League office has announced the bracket for the 2016 Horizon League Championship, to be contested March 10-13 at the Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Northern Kentucky will be the No. 5 seed in the tournament, taking on the No. 8 seed Cleveland State in Thursday’s first round. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Eastern (2:30 p.m. Central), with the action carried live on ESPN3.

NKU and Cleveland State split their regular-season series in 2015-16. The Norse took an 83-51 win over the Vikings on Jan. 28 in Cleveland, while CSU claimed a 64-62 victory on Saturday evening to conclude the regular season for both teams.
Thursday’s other games include No. 4 Detroit versus No. 9 Valparaiso at 1 p.m. Eastern (noon Central), No. 3 Wright State taking on No. 10 UIC at 6 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Central), and No. 6 Youngstown State battling No. 7 Oakland at 8:30 p.m. Eastern (7:30 p.m. Central).
The host Green Bay claimed the Horizon League Championship and No. 1 seed in the tournament, and, along with No. 2 seed Milwaukee, receives a bye to the semifinal round on Saturday.
The winner of Thursday’s NKU-CSU game will take on the winner of the Detroit-Valparaiso game in Friday’s second-round game, set for a 6 p.m.
Eastern (5 p.m. Central) tip. The winner there moves on to face Green Bay at 4 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Central) on Saturday, with Sunday’s championship game tipping off at 1 p.m. Eastern (noon Central).
The championship game will be carried live on ESPNU.
