Thomas More College senior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County), sophomore guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) and sophomore forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from D3hoops.com.
For the third-straight season Moss was named the Great Lakes Player of the Year and First Team All-Great Lakes. She leads the team in scoring with 21.8 points per game and rebounding with 7.2 rebounds per game. Moss is shooting 50.1 percent (206-of-411) from the field and is second on the team in assists with 151, while blocking 17 shots and recording 46 steals.

Owings was named to the Second Team All-Great Lakes after being a third team selection last season. She leads the team in assists with 152, while she is second in scoring with 15.2 points per game and steals with 51. Owings is knocking down 35.9 percent (70-of-195) of her shots from behind the three-point arc and has two blocks on the season.
Kiernan was named to the Third Team All-Great Lakes by the internet website. She is third on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game and in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per game, while blocking a team-best 84 shots and recording 47 steals. Kiernan is shooting 55.4 percent (173-of-312) from the field and 86.4 percent (57-of-66) from the free-throw line.
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The women’s All-American team will be announced the week following the Division III women’s semifinals.
This is the 15th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year’s All-America team will be the 19th annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches’ associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
The top-ranked Saints continue their march towards a second-straight NCAA Division III national title on Saturday (March 19) when they play fourth-ranked Amherst College in a national semifinal game in Columbus, Ohio. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. inside The Capital Center on the campus of Capital University.
Sendoff planned for Saints prior to Final Four trip
Thomas More College invites the community to help send off the Saints as they hit the road for Capital University in Columbus for Saturday night’s Final Four matchup against Amherst College in search of their second straight Division III national title.
The Saints will depart Connor Convocation Center at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Please join us in showing your support as the team continues to defend their DIII National Championship.
No. 1-ranked Thomas More enters the national semifinals with a 31-0 record and is riding a 64-game winning streak. The Saints’ five seniors have a career record of 122-3 (.976) as they head to Columbus this week.
Thomas More leads Division III in scoring margin (+39.4), field goal percentage (.484) and assist/turnover ratio (2.1) and are second in the nation in scoring at 92.7 points per game.
