Union’s Ginger Rood has saved thousands of wild birds. She is the only certified wild bird rehabber in the eastern half of Kentucky — and one of only five in the state.
From March through October she stays over-busy tending hundreds of injured and ailing birds brought to her doorstep from people around Kentucky.
Approaching 80, she’s a bit ready to slow down — and help show others how they can do what she does for these special creatures.
Here’s the “Wanted” poster — and it’s aimed at you.
Learn to become a songbird rehabilitator, get permits, caging requirements, costs, and training on Saturday, April l9 at 2 p.m. at Boone-Union Masonic Lodge at 1882 Mt. Zion Road in Union.
