Bellevue and Dayton are charming historic river cities, but that a doesn’t tell the full story.

Each of these communities, a short bike ride from downtown Cincinnati, is going forward with new quality infill and riverfront developments that have all the latest amenities, including the surrounding walkable neighborhoods and inviting business districts.

Historic homes are being revived with fresh takes on their timeless architectural style and sturdy construction, attracting people of all ages. New and life-long residents alike sense a renewed vibrancy as storefronts reopen.

Thanks to Beyond the Curb, ,an initiative of The Catalytic Fund, you have a chance to get an inside look through a self-guided tour on April 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both private residences and local businesses will be open for tours. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Ticket holders will see ten featured properties, including WatersEdge, Manhattan Harbour and RiverPointe, painstakingly rehabbed single-family residences, along with month-long local business discounts and free parking throughout the tour.

The objective of this initiative is to encourage urban living by showcasing and marketing Northern Kentucky’s River Cities to the Cincinnati region as one special urban area with a wide array of residential product types and amenities that uniquely cater to an assortment of lifestyles.

Beyond the Curb’s series is a rare opportunity to explore the interiors of several residential and commercial properties in various neighborhoods in each River City. Guests will also experience the urban lifestyle as they discover convenient amenities, local businesses, and the strong sense of community that exists in Northern Kentucky.

The tour will showcase a variety of properties; from market-rate luxury apartments and condominiums to historic mansions and single-family residences in a variety of Northern Kentucky’s eclectic neighborhoods.

Beyond the Curb offers something for everyone, from young professionals to empty nesters, as well as those interested in historic preservation, interior design, and most importantly: URBAN LIVING!

A nonprofit urban revitalization organization, The Catalytic Fund held its first tour in Covington in April, 2015. It then continued with Newport — and now, with Dayton and Bellevue.

“We see significant opportunities in Bellevue and Dayton right now with new businesses and redevelopment projects coming online and more planned,” said Jeanne Schroder president of the Catalytic Fund. “There is a strong tenant mix along The Avenue and greenspace plans continues to progress for Riverfront Commons; these are the kinds of amenities people look for in a community. We want to let the entire region know we already have communities offering a high quality of Life in Northern Kentucky’s river cities.”
